Private Hire and Hackney Taxi Medical Only £50

All new and existing Private Hire and Hackney Carriage taxi drivers must complete a medical before being granted a licence. Local councils decide who can carry out the medicals. Some Councils only allow the drivers own general practitioner (GP) to carry them out whist most allow any registered doctor to complete them. The Council will have certain medical requirements you will need to meet to demonstrate you are fit to drive. Taxi medicals are completed to a Group 2 medical standard.

Please ensure that any doctors can complete the medical certificate for your required council.

Depending on the council you are applying, you will need to bring with you either medical records or medical summary dated within the last 3 months from your GP surgery.

Each Council has different requirement when applying for a taxi license. You will need to bring with you the relevant taxi medical form for your council.
